so i guess i am a bitch... i only update when something great happens. so update on my TFT progress: crew a show...done / get on crew payroll...done / befriend master electrician...done / befriend audio production supervisor...done / get paid to work the freud playhouse...done(tonight as A1 for the opening act of Saul Williams, and maybe, if i agree, A2 tomorrow night for N*gger W*tback Ch*nk)/ be the next go-to-do-it-all techie undergrad of TFT...in progress. Now all i need to do is technically get into the undergrad theatre major and i will be set. stupid admissions, the rest of TFT has accepted me with praise and open arms, when will they do the same, june i hope. and the best part, i get to play on an obsession II and soon to come, when jonathan trains me... a yamaha PM1D (for those who dont know, its a $140,000 digital sound console thats absolutely amazing... *orgasm*)... anyway... we will see where the next couple of months take me... |

so as some of you may know... i have said screw chemistry and gone to pursue another passion very seriously in theatre... i will be petitioning to transfer into the design program at ucla's school of theatre, film, and tv (TFT)... good stuff, I am in the third weekened of a three week run for two graduate repertory shows going out of the dept... mfa actors, professors for directors, and my light designer was a pro with an mfa... just light board op for now, but nevertheless great learning experience and first time in a real theatre for a while now... fly rail? obsession II? intelligents? I can't wait to design... and my production manager likes my work enough to ask me to be on TFT's overhire list... i would get hired for tech jobs when the school rents out their theatres to outside companies, etc... very good news... and another bit of very good news... renegade theatre accepted my light design proposal for a show they are producing next season (this July)... my first professional design job... i am excited... i can't wait to see what the future will bring... i just wish my health would be better... damn stress... |

so i finally went postal and got my home theatre system together... thx certified pioneer receiver, jbl front, center, and surround speakers... 840 watts thru 7 channels... and i dont even need a sub, crash scene in castaway at med-loud volume = shit blown clear off the shelf where the front mains are sitting... =) godly... i cant wait for an apt and a 250 watt sub. |

so as usual its been a while... so fedex internship fell through, but a more lucrative job as a consultant came up... i am now a flash development consultant for a biotech company based out of fremont, www.pdl.com ... good times ... eh i am finally doin somethin that is halfway good for a premed student (working for a medical company)... corporate america is a funny twisted thing tho ... but oh well, the job is good work experience (and pay =) )... haha and at least it will make me adopt a normal sleep schedule before the fall... at least during the week .. =) |

hey there, so i can finally relax now, summer is here. i start my build for Lorca on sat, so that should be fun, and i found another job opportunity for the summer, haha no menial-suck-ass-retail job for me. apparantly a friends uncle wants me for a paid IT (information technology) internship for the marketing/IT division at fedex in san jose. =) good stuff, just hope i can be down wit the whole 9-5 office job deal, we will see, it suppose to pay well so thats a huge plus. so good times, and david ... there. take that... and that. =) |

so i am still in LA, moved my stuff to a friend's apt for the weekend, we are driving up to the bay area on tues, so i will be back then... but good times, i cant wait to have an apt so i can start brewing my own beer, my friends roommates brew some great beers, right now i am enjoying a dunkel weizen (dark wheat brew)... so crisp and tastey... haha, but as much fun as i am havin, i am really missin home... so RTE gave me technical director for their next show, Lorca in a Green Dress, i start the build right when i get back, we open the 15th and run thurs-sun till the 30th... shows at the hoover theatre in san jose... should be fun, and i finally get paid for doin an RTE show, so it finally counts as a job and not charity anymore... haha anyway ... should go now... until next time... |

so i got my mackie and compressor today, and my mackie already has gone through one event, a talent show with 4 mics, two guitars, a piano, an ipod for house music, and a set of stage monitors... it did me proud, I am glad i found it in perfect workin order, cause i was worried from the dirty look it has, seems well-broken in with one fader kinda bent... but hes mine now and i love him all the more for it... its just character, like the lil scrappy mutt with a shaggy coat who is the best dog ever... haha... i really am crazy... i strted to read the manual cause i wanted to catch up on the new features, as this is the new version of the one i used at bell for four years, and all i can say is i love greg mackie... some pretty crazy shit, this board is small, but has a lot to give... i cant wait to really use it in the future... so life is not bad, i cant wait to be back home and have nothin better to do than hang wit friends and chill... i needa long, hassle free break... |

so today was a beach day... after some convincing, i recruited melissa and kenny (from santa cruz) to accompany me to venice... on the bus ride there we met three drunk guys, one of who evetually got the three of them kicked off the bus for pissin out the back door at one of the stops, and a 74-yr old african american man in traditional african garb who told us about how his beautiful asian girlfriend from his past was a sex machine and how melissa's eyes are pretty... interesting... after some walkin, some good cheap sunglasses shopping, and some good fresh cooked indian food we decided to walk to the santa monica pier and explore... i wanted to go on rides... but no dice, they rip the hell out of u for ride tickets... since when does a boardwalk ride cost $4.50??!... oh well, we explored the boardwalk games and decided upon a "fish out of a wind-powered torrent of numbered balls for a prize" game where i won a jumbo (not really jumbo) stuffed animal for tracey... i miss her so much these days... after some more fun... and kenny smackin me down onto the ground wit a blow to the head with the stuffed animal (the damn thing is stuffed so much it is actually hard and hurts) we made our way back to the bus and eventually to ucla where we watched snatch for the hell of it, followed by enternal sunshine... and now its 330am and i needa sleep... fun times |

so its been a while, as always i never update this thing, but someone begged me to update, so here i am... so the year is almost over... for some reasons that makes me sad, for others i cant wait to be back in the bay... anyway work is awesome like always... i am startin to seriously reconsider my career plans... i startin to love sound and lighting more, if thats even possible... learnin new stuff, new equipment, new techniques makes me so happy... and i finally got a mackie of my very own, a 1402vlz-pro... it comes on monday... i cant wait... coupled with a dbx 266 compressor and soon to be completed(hopefully) by a mackie FR1400 pro amplifier, or a crown xls602... whichever ebay gives me for less... i know its a sickness, why do i need this pro audio gear... i dont know... i just want it... =) ... hmmm maybe throw a party or two, make a block or two quake... =) who knows, one of my coworkers got hooked up on a carver amp and pair of cervin vega loudspeakers... basturd $25 ea for those speakers... fuckin steal... anywho, he's already got two friends askin to rent his shit... hmm maybe i can make a lil money back... who knows, now wit my yrs exp and a lil pro instruction from my boss i might just yet... damn i cant wait to hook up all my shit once i have it compiled... =) XD =) |

so work is awesome, i love havin the freedom of scheduling, and choosing to do what i want while i work, plus the breaks... =)... and guess what... i get paid for donating blood... go in for 30 min, get paid for 4 hour... comp time rocks... plus free chipotle isnt too bad... so class is good, in oneof my seminars i am gettin mad contacts for theatre and film opportunities... my portfolio still impresses... =)... and life on campus is good... had a good talk wit someone over dinner... i am glad i have been lucky enough to make good friends here so easily... but one thing drives me nuts... i cant wait til feb... i need you... where are you... that weekend is gonna rock... |

so i am back in la ready to start a new quarter... break was awesome, very good times had wit close friends and one very special girl... =) ... but it's good to be back to westwood, strangly i kinda missed it here, maybe its my friends here, or that my parents drive me nuts at home... so good news today, turns out the asst. program support coordinator of the ORL (office of residential life) decided to give me the senior set-up crew job only based on my 1st interview... good stuff... so i went in today and got my official hiring form done and a lil tour of some of the facilities i will manage... i like the spaces, makes me feel like home... tomorrow: payroll and employee paperwork... hehe i get full access to all the buildings except the main orl office... =) ... i like power... hehe... so ya good times... missing someone, and hopin she is doin well... hopefully everythin will work out... but ya its 1AM and i have my only 8am of the week tomorrow and am a lil sick, so sleep now... |

so life is good... i am the technical director and overall designer for the next production from Shakespeare @ UCLA, "Twelfth Night"... the space is awesome, kerchoff grand salon, but we will needa work on budget and bureaucracy to get a descent rig and set goin... and i applied for a job as a senior/supervisor of the orl (office of residential life) set-up crew, lights/sound event crew stuff... lets see if i get 2 for 2... should be nice to get back in the old swing of things, how i miss the tech... but ya holidays are fun, shoppin, gifts, friends, goin home soon... god its gonna be good to see friends and my special someone again... good times |

so its been awhile again... break was awesome... good times with friends, up in the mountains and down in the valley... good time with tracey, mhmm fresh strawberry waffles in bed =)... but I am back now, few more weeks til i get back... good news to start the home stretch... just came back from my interview with the director and producer for the next production of Twelfth Night from Shakespeare@ucla and they offered me technical director on the spot... =) was it the resume or portfolio?... that will be fun if we can get a decent set and rig goin, at least they have a space... good times... |

so again it's been a while... been busy and have forgotten to update... news: dvd library has grown to 58 and countin; gonna get 2 more fish after thanksgivin prolly; my setup in my room just got a whole lot sweeter, my projector cleared up as if by some incredible act of God and is now crystal clear on my 60" screen... =); classes are goin well, already have next quarter pretty much planned out, next chem and math in series + eng comp 3 + a theatre/film/creative works fiat lux seminar? or + a pediatrics fiat lux seminar... we will see; went to go see an improv show at Ulitamte Improv in westwood, hehe lil ghetto blackbox conversion runnin stuff that would make benson look like a Broadway theatre house, but it still made me miss my home in a theatre, not matter how shitty it may be... can't wait til that ucla shakespeare comapany does its casting so that i can strt designin and runnin again... i will find a new home/homes... we will see... good times, cant wait for thanksgiving... good times... |

so yesterday night/this mornin was fun... wandered around westwood to find game to play... wats wit socal, neither rite aid nor cvs had a single game in their toy sections... lame...though i picked up a rotatin light beacon for under $10 (mhmm dance party ... ?) anywho evetually we did happen upon a desolate longs which saved the day... ROCK EM... SOCK EM ... ROBOTS!... hahaha brilliance mr. cham, sheer brilliance... so we end up back at my place and after several exhilerating rounds we collapse into watchin butterfly effect... good movie... anywho after an hour of nothing we decide on te wrost thing ever... risk!... 7 hours later.... karen wins due to a tiebreaker of rock em sock em robots...hahaha good times... |
